Today, OPPO dropped a 5G sequel to the last year's Oppo A95, the A96 5G. It’s the latest addition to the budget-friendly A-series, featuring a gorgeous design, Qualcomm-powered 5G, and a sleek, slim design. The phone is currently up for pre-order and goes on sale later this week.

Design is the biggest highlight of the Oppo A96 5G. We’re looking at the sharp flat edges on the frame that Apple’s iPhone 13 brought back last year.

The trendy aesthetic is rounded off by eye-catching rose gold, black, and multi-hue iridescent finishes. Two symmetric lenses stick out of the backplate, accented with rings. These rings double as notification LEDs. At 7.59mm of depth and a weight of only 171g, the Oppo A96 5G has a featherweight footprint.

Flip the phone over to reveal its 6.43” AMOLED screen. It’s a 1080P panel with a high contrast ratio, a built-in fingerprint scanner, and a 180Hz touch sampling response. Oppo has punched a hole in the corner to house the 16MP front camera. The rear camera is made of 48MP wide and 2MP portrait lenses.

The Oppo A96 5G has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 — a newly announced chip built on a 6nm node. It works with 8GB of memory and 256GB of internal storage. The RAM is virtually extended by 5GB for improved multitasking.

A 4500 mAh battery and 33W charging support power everything. Lastly, the latest ColorOS 12 x Android 12 runs on the Oppo A96 5G out of the box. the handset  carries an Oppo mobile price tag of CNY 1,999 (~ Rs. 55,500.)
