Oppo continues rolling out the Oppo A52 and Oppo A72, following their launch in India, Malaysia, and New Zealand. The duo has now reached Germany, where it’s available for purchase via Oppo’s online channels. Note that the A52 went official in Pakistan earlier this month at an affordable Oppo price tag, leading us to speculate that the A72 might soon make its way to stores nationwide.

The A52 and A72 share a similar design language but have different paint jobs. Featuring a trendy sunburst pattern around the back on a polished surface that comes in Aurora Purple and Twilight Black, the Oppo A72 is your cookie-cutter mid-tier smartphone.

Its build is neatly chamfered around the edges and 3D quad-curved. Oppo has installed a side-facing thumbprint reader in the A72 frame for unlocking your device. The camera housing wears a solid black shade, with its quad-camera set up in an L-shaped layout.

This A72 by Oppo Camera array uses a 48MP f/1.7 primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera that stretches your FoV by 119°, and a pair of 2MP portrait-focused sensors. Combined with the large aperture, its 1/2” sensor captures detailed shots with a wide dynamic range. In low-light conditions, toggle the ‘Ultra Night Mode 2.0’ to enhance the photos further.

While the hardware lacks any native support for stabilization, you can shoot in steady 4K thanks to Oppo’s Anti-Shake algorithm. The front-facing camera features a decent 16MP sensor underneath.

The A72 display out front has a modern bezel-less design, complete with a punched cutout in the corner. It delivers an FHD+ resolution, extends 6.5 inches across, and reaches 90.5% in the screen-to-body ratio (the chin could have been trimmed further).

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 mobile platform on Oppo A72 handles processing, equipped with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. You can get a day’s heavy usage out of the 5,000 mAh battery that backs up this hardware, and quickly recharge it with 18W Fast Charging. Turn on the ‘HyperBoost’ when you’re gaming for better, smoother performance.

The Oppo A72 boots to ColorOS 7.1, as far as the price is concerned, Whatmobile expects it to start anywhere from 40,000 to 45,000 Pakistani rupees.
