Oppo’s A6 lineup already has several devices, and now there’s one more. The new Oppo A6s has the battery and durability of a mid-range phone. But the rest of its specs are entry-level. They’ve released the newcomer in China, by the way, as a 4G device. Here are all its specifications.

The screen is just an IPS LCD of 6.75” size. It’s large enough and also quite bright at 1,125 nits. That’s the kind of brightness you don’t normally see on LCDs. The resolution is only HD+ 720p, and may not be ideal for pixel peepers. They did go all out with the phone’s 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling.

It doesn’t have the new ColorOS 16. The latest Oppo budget model is actually built around an older Android 15 system with ColorOS 15 skin, which runs on a Snapdragon 685 chip. The RAM is 8GB. Its storage is UFS 2.2 (256GB). Every day performance should be reasonable, but you should definitely look the other way if you are a gamer.

Oppo did come up with clever software tricks to make the chip perform smoother than it normally can. There’s something called Oppo Trinity Engine and Luminous Rendering Engine that could make the UI more responsive. The chip can run without cooling, but the Oppo A6s has a VC cooling chamber, just in case the chip gets hot.

The cooling will stabilize the chip under load and also take some heat away from the battery. There’s a big 7000mAh cell on this phone, but it’s not Si/C. That’s why the phone is insanely thick at 8.61mm. That battery is wired into an 80W charging kit for backup.

There’s an IP69 rating on the Oppo A6s. It won’t get damaged even if you drop the phone in water. Of course, it’s also completely dustproof. There’s a side fingerprint reader here. The camera on the back is 50MP with 2MP monochrome. The selfie shooter is 16MP.

They’ve also baked in NFC and dual Speakers on this device. WiFi 5 and Bluetooth v5.0 are also part of the package here on Oppo A6s. The company did not announce its price tag at launch. 4G devices like this usually arrive in Pakistan, so we have high hopes it will debut locally someday. Keep watching the news for updates.
