Oppo A5x 5G Goes Official with Long Battery Life, Dimensity SoC & IP65 Rating

The company has expanded its budget portfolio with a brand new Oppo A5x 5G model, launched just days after the unveiling of its 4G counterpart (Oppo A5x 4G). The newcomer comes equipped with a Dimensity 6300 chipset, runs Android 15 with ColorOS 15, and includes 4GB of RAM.

There’s a 6.67” HD+ LCD on top, which has a peak brightness of 1000 nits. It won’t be as sharp when it comes to the visuals, but you can expect smooth and lag-free animations thanks to that low resolution, a surprisingly beefy SoC, and up to 120Hz refresh rate.

From what we’ve gathered about its IPS display, the A5x 5G has specs almost identical to its 4G cousin. The screen even comes with glove and splash touch technologies, which allows a user to operate the touch with wet or oily hands, and it should work through gloves as well.

The latest 5G Oppo mobile has a 32 MP Main camera and an auxiliary lens on the back right beside the LED flash. Flip the phone over, and you’ll see a 5 MP selfie camera facing you through a punch-hole cutout. All things considered, the camera hardware is suboptimal and hard to justify at the phone’s price.

The A5x chipset is the most interesting part. It runs a Dimenstiy 6300 SoC, which is universally considered the best 5G chip for budget devices. It has a 2.4GHz clock speed with eight cores and a 2nd Gen Mali-G57 GPU. The chipset on Oppo A5x is a power horse, though it might be bottlenecked by a limited 4 GB of RAM.

There are no compromises on the power side, as the phone gives you up to a 6000mAh battery, which you will be able to refuel with a 45W charger. There’s SD card storage expansion and a side fingerprint reader, and putting everything together is an Android 15 Color OS 15 system.

Oppo A5x is also quite durable. The phone has a Military Grade shockproof design with an SGS rating, not to forget that it’s IP65 rated against water splashes and dust ingress. Price-wise, the Oppo A5x (4/128GB) costs $165 (~PKR 46,000).
