The endless stream of Oppo entry-level phones continues. Oppo A57e, the latest addition to the brand's cost-efficient A-lineup, is out in the wild. On paper, the newest member, A57e, is a facsimile of the previously launched A57s.
A57e has just landed in India. And based on the brand's usual launch timeline, the new OPPO A76 sibling should be headed for Pakistan next. As far as specifications go, OPPO A57e is a decent value for its price. It features a dual-camera setup, a long-lasting hefty battery, and a trendy 2022 design. Here's a manifest of the newcomer's hardware.
For starters, the design of A57e is not new. It's a spin-off of recently unveiled A57 and A57s handsets with a slab-like design, flat edges, minimal backplate, and rectangular camera platform. There are two camera units on that platform with 13MP alpha and 2MP beta sensors inside.
The engine under OPPO A57e's hood is a MediaTek-powered Helio G35 SoC — Octa-core chip based on a 12nm node. It hooks up to a jumbo 5000mAh battery tailored to charge with a 33W brick. On top of that, it has 4GB LPDDR4X memory plus 64GB storage capacity.
A57e hardware operates on the ColorOS 12.1 flavor of Android 12. OPPO's new 4G model lacks support for dual speakers and NFC, unlike A57s. To enhance the user experience, it allows for Virtual RAM expansion of up to 4GB and Physical storage upgrade of up to 1TB via SD card.
A 6.56-inch display floods the entire front view of A57e. It's IPS in nature with HD+/720p resolution packed at 269 pixels per inch. The brightness levels reach 600 nits peak, and you are looking at an underwhelming 60Hz refresh for the panel. It uses Panda Glass for front-view protection.
The bezels are partially uniform, with V-notch bleeding into the screen. The selfie camera is 8MP and capable of recording 1080p videos at 30FPS. Its backplate has a frosty matte texture and comes in Green & Black shades. OPPO A57e's price starts from ~$175 or ~PKR 38,100.
