Nothing Phone (2), (2a), and CMF Phone 1 Launched in Pakistan with Exclusive Offers

ROX, the Jazz sub-brand, has joined forces with “Nothing” and Yellowstone Technologies as its distributor to bring three Nothing phones to the Pakistani market officially. Today, we welcome Nothing Phone (2), Phone (2a), and CMF Phone 1 to the country. This is the first set of devices released in Pakistan by this smartphone maker, and we are excited.

Early buyers can enjoy a combined special offer from Nothing and Jazz. Purchasing any of these phones will get you a free pair of CMF Buds and a Jazz ROX bundle with 200GB of mobile data, 5000 all-network minutes, and 5000 SMS. As for what these new phones offer, this is everything you need to know.

Nothing Phone (2)

This is a device from 2023 with a unique Glyph Interface and the fastest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip of that time. Since the company has not revealed its successor yet, this is the most powerful device in Nothing’s roster. This is also an immensely improved second-gen product after the Nothing Phone (1).

There’s much to like here, especially if we focus on the design. Nothing is, after all, a style-centric phone maker, and its expertise lies in product design more than anything else, as expressed by the CEO “Carl Pei” many times in his interviews. Like all its other products, the Phone (2) also has an exposed backplate and a collection of 11 functional LED strips, which the company calls Glyph Interface.

Specs-wise, this phone has the best-in-class features: an LTPO OLED panel with a 1-120Hz refresh rate and a 6.7” display size. There’s 1600 nits brightness, which was considered top-notch back in 2023. The OLED is 1080p with Gorilla Glass 5. Its exposed design does have the caveat of a semi-secured IP54 rating.

It boots up to Android 13, but it’s upgradeable to Android 15. There’s a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The two cameras on the back are both 50 MP sensors (Main + Ultrawide), and the selfie cam is 32 MP. Phone (2) has a fingerprint under the screen, a 4700mAh battery with wired (45W) and wireless (15W) charging, plus it supports WiFi 6. Nothing Phone (2) is launched in Pakistan with 12/512GB storage and a price tag of PKR 239,900.

Nothing Phone (2a)

This handset carries a different look, but it’s built on the same design principle with an exposed back, a glyph interface, and an IP54 rating. The features are trimmed down to achieve a lower price, like the Dimensity 7200 Pro chip and no wireless charging. It does, however, boot to a newer Android 14 version and promises 3 OS updates down the line.

Instead of 11 LEDs, Phone (2a) only has three LED strips for that glyph interface. There’s a centered horizontal camera array instead of the cornered vertical stack, but those sensors are the same 50 MP (Main) and 50 MP (Ultrawide). Even the selfie camera has an identical 32 MP sensor up front.

Phone (2a) brings a non-LTPO 6.7” AMOLED with HDR10+ and 1300 nits peak brightness. A fingerprint ID lies under the screen. The resolution is 1080p, the refresh rate is 120Hz, and the panel itself is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

This phone also packs a bigger 5000mAh battery and 45W fast charging. In Pakistan, Nothing has released the Phone (2a) with 12/256GB storage priced at PKR 144,900.

Nothing CMF Phone 1

This is also a fashion-forward handset, but it doesn’t rely on an exposed backplate or a glyph interface to catch the eye. CMF Phone 1 is all about user repairability and modular design, which you can accessorize any way you like. The best thing about this phone is that you can swap its backplate with a bunch of color options that Nothing provides.

In the bottom right corner, there’s a mounting point where you can attach a lanyard or a stand. You can even unscrew it, along with some of the other exposed metal screws, and swap the entire back within minutes and change its color. It also gives you backup in case you damage the cover.

CMF phone 1 has an AMOLED 120Hz 6.67” panel up front with 2000 nits peak brightness and a Full HD+ resolution. There’s a Dimensity 7300 chip inside this device, and it boots to an Android 14 system out of the box. Down the road, it will give you three OS updates.

The back camera has one functioning lens with a 50 MP Main sensor. That second lens has a 2MP depth mapper to assist with portraits. Then, we have a 16 MP shooter on the front to capture selfies. The battery inside CMF 1 is a 5000mAh standard cell with 33W input. There’s also an under-display fingerprint reader and WiFi 6 built into this device. CMF Phone 1 is the cheapest of all devices and costs PKR 84,900 in Pakistan for its 8/128GB option.

All three phones are now available across 10 Jazz Experience Centers in major cities of Pakistan and should start retailing online through the ROX app any day. This is the company’s first venture into Pakistan’s market with Phone (2), Phone (2a), and CMF Phone 1. Nothing is also expected to bring Phone (3a) into our market later this year. Stick around if you want more updates about Nothing’s upcoming releases.
