The Apple Event is happening on September 9. The company has already confirmed the date and sent out invites for press coverage. We only have a few days till the iPhone 17 series debut. Building up to that moment, we’ve found a leaked video from Apple’s production line, which exposed the iPhone 17 Pro Max with a completely new look.

The video came from a Chinese source, and it shows an iPhone 17 Pro Max presumably being handled by one of Apple’s employees at the local factory. It’s now beyond any doubt that a revamped design is on the way with a massive horizontal camera bar and dual-tone finish on the rear side.

We can’t yet deny the possibility of it being a dummy unit. We’ve seen plenty of leaks before in that vein. However, the phone boxes in the background lead us to believe this device might be a legit iPhone 17 Pro Max sitting on the assembly line at one of Apple’s factories.

The quick five-second clip shows a light blue and Black colored Apple's latest iPhone. The suspected matte and glossy separation can be seen clearly on each color. The middle section is more reflective than the rest of its brushed metallic body. Camera bump has the lens array on one side and the LIDAR sensor on the other.

DCS reports that the three cameras on the rear side all have 48MP sensors for ultrawide, main, and periscope zoom telephoto. Finally, the iPhone 17 Pro duo has a unified camera assortment. Its selfie cam may also get an upgrade from 12MP to 24MP, almost twice the resolution of its forerunner.

Jeff Pu, the Apple analyst, believes it’s a 6.3” XDR OLED for the iPhone 17 Pro and a 6.9” display for Pro Max. These are the same as the iPhone 16 Pro. The iPhone 17 Air will probably get a slightly smaller screen, the same size as an iPhone 16 Plus from 2024.

For the usual yearly upgrades, expect a new iOS 26 firmware on these phones and a new Apple A19 silicon. The pro model from the lineup will feature at least 12GB of RAM, and the base iPhone 17 might be stuck with 8GB of RAM once again. The iPhone 17 series will launch next week on Tuesday. We’ll cover the entire lineup in depth once the event is wrapped up. Stay tuned.
