The next Apple iPhones are going to disappoint many users, especially in light of what we already know. However, if you plan to buy an iPhone in 2019, here is everything that has been confirmed so far.
In a new report, Guilherme Rambo, an extremely reliable Apple analyst has confirmed numerous important features about the three upcoming iPhone 11 models that are due in late 2019. For a change, not all of it is "the good news".
According to Rambo, those who could see the live devices confirm that the model numbers that will replace the current models will be D42 for iPhone XS (iPhone12.3 in iOS code), D43 for iPhone XS Max (iPhone12.5) and N104 for iPhone XR (iPhone12.1). Unfortunately, the actual names of the new series are still unknown, but it now seems to be confirmed that all three models will have the same displays with the same screen resolution as their predecessors with OLED displays for top-of-the-line models and IPS LCDs for the iPhone XR successor.
Rambo has also identified the hardware that will be present on the new iPhone and confirms the A13 chipset (codename "Cebu" and model number T8030). The A13, in addition to being more powerful, will also have to handle a new camera technology reserved for the new devices, called "Smart Frame", which will basically enable users to take pictures outside the standard frame, in order to realign the shots later on.
Regarding the new triple camera on the back of the D42 and D43 iPhone XI models, Rambo says the third lens is a wide-angle sensor, which will make its first appearance on an iPhone. Unfortunately, the ambiguous new design is also final.
To boost the morale of that fans who fell disappointed by new iPhone 11 not having the 3D Touch technology anymore, Rambo has identified the 3D touch to be replaced by something called "leap haptics". The details of this new technology are still rare, but the man reports that it will be powered by a new type of Taptic Engine.

Finally, if you were hoping for a USB-C port and 5G connectivity, you will have to wait. The Lightning port will survive another year, and there is still no room (or time) for Qualcomm modems to support the new fifth-generation networks.
