Infinix Smart HD Launched in Pakistan; Fingerprint Security and Four-day Battery Life on a Budget

After Introducing the Smart 5, Infinix just launched the ultra-budget Smart HD in Pakistan along with a 3GB RAM variant of the already launched Infinix Smart 5.  The all-new Smart HD is powered by Android Go and promises a four-day battery life — all in a compact package with fingerprint security. Let's take a look.

Where most entry-level phones this season have grown needlessly oversized, often reaching 7" of screen real-estate, the Infinix Smart HD is a welcome change. It has a very pocketable 6.1" HD+ display with a notch on top — perfect for ergonomic single-handed use. Plus, it can manage up to 500 nits of brightness.

There's a single 8MP camera on the back, next to a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The 8MP front selfie also supports 2D face unlocking. For better sound quality, the Infinix Smart HD uses DTS audio-processing.

Thanks to the underpowered chipset and standard HD+ screen, The Smart HD's 5000 mAh battery is advertised to last up to four days with regular use and as much as 35 days on stand-by. But as you'd expect, the latest addition to the Infinix price list lacks any fast charging support.

You're looking at a very generic design, though. Infinix Smart HD's plastic back is textured all across and available in mint, charcoal, and blue colors. A round camera bump houses the rear camera and flash - - imitating the look of higher-end devices. Infinix ships the Smart HD with the Go version of Android 10, tailored for low-end hardware, complete with the Go edition of most popular Google apps.

You get 2GB of memory and 32GB of native storage that's expandable up to 256GB with a MicroSD card. The chipset is old-gen, so no support for 4G connectivity here. The Infinix Smart HD starts from Rs. 13,999. For a quick comparison, the pricier Redmi 9A and Samsung Galaxy A01 both lack fingerprint security.
