Expansion of Infinix's Hot catalog continues. Infinix Hot 20 Play joins the budget Hot 20 and Hot 20s Mid-range model in the same family as a new entry-range device. Design-wise, all three commit to the same lens assortment and backplate design. However, the newcomer's specs are slightly trimmed.

Things start from its bold 6.82-inch IPS panel, spanning edge-to-edge with a slightly raised chin and punch-hole camera. The screen of the Infinix Hot 12 Play's new successor comes loaded with a 90Hz refresh rate and 720p HD+ resolution. It's a glass+plastic sandwich clocking in at 209g and measures 171 x 78 x 8.9 mm.

It doesn't have much in terms of optics, but belonging to the entry segment, it gets away with a 13MP Alpha lens assisted by a QVGA sensor. Residing inside the front-punch hole is an 8MP shooter paired with the Infinix-special dual-LED flash for better night selfies.

To make things interesting, Infinix has equipped Hot 20 Play with Helio G37 12nm, capable of boosting the core clocks up to 2.3Ghz. And To get the absolute max out of the CPU, the new Infinix Hot mobile bears 4GB RAM in tow with 64/128GB of storage. Nonetheless, visual performance using a PowerVR GPU still lags generations behind.

The unusual footprint on the latest Hot Play does have a perk. An enormous 6000mAh Li-Po battery lives under the phone's deck, boosted with an 18W power adapter. The featured 5W reverse charge helps plug other devices on the go.

To go the extra mile, Infinix has jammed in a set of stereo speakers, Dual-SIM, a 3.5mm jack, face-unlock, rear-mounted biometric, USB-Type C, and SD-card slot on the HOT 20 Play. Operated with Android 12, the device will ship in Racing Black, Luna Blue, Aurora Green, and Fantasy Purple. The official price and slated regions are still a mystery.
