We knew all about its gimbal camera setup, but the rest of Honor Robot Phone’s hardware has been a mystery till this point. A leak today brought all the missing information to light right before the newcomer's expected launch in August. These are the details from the leak.
By the way, these claims are being made by Digital Chat Station, who has a track record with these sorts of predictions. He alleges that the screen could be a 1.5K resolution OLED. And this size could be 6.3” or 6.4”, which would make it a compact handset.
They’ll put a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip on it, the best SoC so far on the Android platform. Honor Robot new model is a flagship device by design. But it’s not the performance that’s going to put this newcomer on the map. It will be the optics.
Apparently, the main camera on the 4D gimbal is a 200MP f/1.6 unit that does motion tracking and stabilization. But there’s more. This camera will sit in the nest beside the second 200MP periscope telephoto lens. And then we have a 50MP ultrawide.
This is a small phone, and almost half of the space inside is taken up by camera modules and the motherboard, so it has very little room for battery. The leaker has predicted a 6000mAh cell on this newcomer, which will drain quickly when the gimbal and camera are active.
Honor already has a flagship Magic 9 series, and it seems the Robot phone will possibly share its camera performance with that lineup. This leak has formed a partial image for us, though it’s far from the full spec sheet. But we now know what to expect. It’s basically a flagship phone with a DJI Osmo Pocket camera attached to it. We’ll let you know if we find more details on the subject. Keep watching the news.
