Honor Robot Phone should debut in China in a couple of days. August is a plausible launch window. Either way, it’s sure to arrive in the third quarter of 2026, per the official announcement. The phone was unboxed in a leaked video on Weibo. And this is how the packaging and the device look in hand.
They had already revealed a bunch of hardware details when they opened pre-orders for the Honor Robot Phone, and last we checked, this newcomer had cleared MIIT and 3C certifications in China. And now a video has leaked. The picture is slowly coming into focus.
It’s a premium unboxing experience, from what we can tell. The Honor Robot new mobile really is a flagship, since that’s what the packaging usually looks like for a primo device. And there’s a slogan on the packaging too. “Your First Robot Phone.” The clip is only a few seconds long.
It’s a short vertical video. And only the last part showed the phone in hand. But in the last couple of seconds, the person holding the phone opened the camera app and showed that 4DoF gimbal in action. The Robot Phone was wiggled around. But the camera stayed locked to a horizontal plane.
All it takes is 0.8 seconds to fully deploy the Robot arm that’s holding the gimbal camera. It’s snappy, and there’s minimal lag. A nice little animation plays on the camera app while the arm fully extends out. That’s a nice trick to make up for the delay.
We fear the phone might be imbalanced, off-center in favor of the camera island. The camera system will retract into a huge island. The hardware itself is a 4DoF gimbal + coprocessor for AI algorithms. This setup is actually CIPA 5.5 certified for stabilization. You can’t get that on a normal phone camera.
Making the phone compact must’ve been hard to pull off with the camera hardware it’s lugging around. It’s said that the Robot Phone is 6.4” or 6.3” with 1.5K OLED and all the fancy bells and whistles. The main camera is 200MP. They’ve also put a 200MP telephoto and 50MP ultrawide on it. But there’s very little room for battery, so it resorts to a 6000mAh cell. Keep watching the news for more updates.
