Honor’s Magic line is a flagship one. They are working on the 8th-generation devices right now, and we can confirm at least two newcomers on the way. The company has finally teased the Honor Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro in China. Here’s what we found about these phones.

Honor has finally teased how these newcomers look, and their designs aren’t much different from the previous models. That circular camera dial you see in the images was also seen on the Magic 7 series. By the way, the older models were already under scrutiny for looking too much like the Vivo X200 lineup. Just something you should know.

Vivo didn’t give up the design for its X300 series, and neither did Honor with its Magic 8 series. Well, most of the attention goes to the battery size this time. The teaser has confirmed the capacity: 7200mAh for the Magic 8 Pro and 7000mAh for the standard Magic 8.

This is a massive generation-to-generation upgrade for the Honor Magic family. They haven’t teased any other specs yet, so we can’t claim anything officially just yet. The company did mention that this Honor's latest flagship phone will have the industry’s widest OTA signal coverage.

Again, Honor didn’t get into the specifics. We assume the signal details will unravel at launch. They may use AI for the OTA coverage, and make the phone more power efficient by almost 13%. These are the only official clues into this series. The rest can be found in leaks.

It’s said that the Pro model is 8.3mm thick, and this brick may weigh 219 grams. At least it’s thinner than the last model, which was 8.8mm. The Magic 8 Pro is probably built around a 6.71” 1.5K OLED and 50MP selfie cam. We may have 50MP (Main) + 200MP (Telephoto) + 50MP (Ultrawide) camera gear on the back.

As for the basic Magic 8, the safest bet will be a smaller 6.58” 1.5K OLED hiding a 50MP selfie shooter on a 7.9mm chassis thickness. The rear camera setup is probably identical on both. Another thing they may have in common is the 80W wireless charging. They are both flagship models, so each will land the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. We’ll let you know more as soon as we have the remaining details. Keep watching the news.
