Honor 500 Pro Officially Teased with 0.1 Second 3D Ultrasonic Fingerprint Reader

The company has already announced the launch date for the Honor 500 series. It will hit the stage in the next few hours. But they are teasing the phones first to set expectations. The Honor 500 Pro is the pricier model, and a teaser confirms that it’s the only device in the lineup with a 3D Ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

This new upgrade is a big deal, especially coming from the Honor 400 Pro’s slow optical fingerprint. It was a bit faster than the typical scanners, but not to the level of an Ultrasonic sensor. The Honor 500 Pro will be far secure, as its scanner has better accuracy in detecting impressions.

The 3D ultrasonic fingerprint is also quite fast. It could bring the scans down to just 0.1 seconds, if their new teaser is anything to go by. Usually, we advise caution in believing the claimed numbers, because external factors always seem to affect these scanners. But not with this one.

A damp screen or wet finger can easily hamper the accuracy and speed of the Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Honor has apparently thought of that. They say Honor new flagship model’s sensor can detect impressions with a wet screen or wet fingers. The phone is IP69K rated, by the way. They probably ran the fingerprint scanner through rigorous testing.

They didn’t touch the spec sheet on any of the teasers so far. The phone is nearing the finish line fast. Our next post will probably be on the series’ launch coverage. Consider this a last-minute spec roundup of everything we know about the Honor 500 Pro’s specs from rumors.

This newcomer has a Snapdragon 8 Elite built in. So this is as close as you can get to a flagship experience without crossing that threshold. Also, we heard from a leaker that this device has an 8000mAh battery. Honor 500 Pro will be hard to kill, even with normal two-day usage.

There’s probably a 50MP telephoto sensor on this phone, right next to a 200MP Main shooter. The simple Honor 500 will cut some specs. Its SoC is likely a slower Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. We’ll add extended coverage for these phones after launch. Keep watching the news.
