Apple iPhone SE 2024 Purported with a Bigger 6.1-inch OLED Display and Apple's own Network Chip

Earlier reports on Apple iPhone SE 2024 claimed the discontinuation of the series. However, rumors have started picking the pace again, as Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo tipped that Apple has begun working on SE models again. He has shared some juicy details on iPhone SE 2024. Have a look.

According to re, iPhone SE 2024 should be similar to iPhone 14 feature-wise. The latter has a 6.1-inch OLED panel and Apple's typical squarish notch on the forehead. The newcomer's larger display will likely be the most exciting upgrade over the existing 4.7-inch LCD on SE 2022.

SE lineup also plans to upgrade the network connectivity. The phone will debut with Apple's 5G-enabled antenna band modem supporting sub-6GHz frequencies. Current iPhones leverage 5G modems from Qualcomm. Its CEO recently commented on the subject matter: "We expect that Apple will do their modem in 2024, but if they need ours, they know where to find us."

It confirmed Apple's plan to build an in-house 5G chip, removing additional 3rd party hardware. Kuo added that Apple 5G baseband chip abounds with iPhone 16 series scheduled for release in 2024. The Cupertino giant may solve its current mmWave and satellite communications problems by implementing the new chip. Within the current iPhone price list, there are several models available, each with a unique set of features that contribute to variations in price.

Following the iPhone SE 2024, Apple may decline the usage of Qualcomm 5G chips in their watches, iPads, and future iPhones. All products from that point onward will bear Apple's own 5G chip. Ming-chi Kuo's leaks are mostly credible, and for the latest break, we haven't found a reason to claim otherwise. Still, we suggest taking this news with a hint of sarcasm until the brand confirms it.
