The iPhone 18 Pro and Ultra are close to their official debut, but leakers have already started looking into the next series. Apparently, the 2027 iPhones skip a number. Next year is actually the company’s 20th anniversary, and the new moniker is supposed to reflect that with the title iPhone 20 series.
There was a leak on Weibo that breaks down the exact changes coming to the 20th Anniversary iPhones. Fixed Focus Digital said that a full design overhaul is a possibility. They’ll put curved glass on the phone, and we are not just talking about the back.
The leaker foreshadows a curved screen on the iPhone 20. Not exactly sure if that’s for the whole group or just the Pro version. But this is a bold claim either way. One of the iPhone 20 models is supposed to have the same design and thickness as the iPhone Air. Again, nowhere in the leak did the leaker specify which sibling is getting these changes. Though Fixed Focus Digital has predicted a thickness close to the iPhone Air’s for said iPhone 20 device. The current iPhone 17 Pros aren’t exactly the best at thermal control.
If what the leaker predicts is accurate, the iPhones coming next year will rework the whole thermal design and may put a bigger vapor chamber altogether to bring the chipset temps down. The leaker thinks it would be at least 1” larger than the iPhones we currently have.
These aren’t the only details, or should we say rumors, about the iPhone 20 series on the internet. We saw one report that seems to predict a huge 6.96” screen on the iPhone 20 Pro Max, and this would be a clear, visible difference between the two generations of iPhones.
There’s also possibly a 6000mAh battery on the handset. iPhone 20 Pro Max will put the Face ID, or at least one of the sensors on the Face ID, behind the screen.
