Apple iPhone 17e Unveiled with MagSafe Support, A19 Silicon, and 48MP Single Camera

A supply chain report weeks ago predicted that iPhone 17e will not feature Dynamic Island. The leak was accurate. The device has finally debuted with the traditional notch and Face ID. Its screen is exactly the same as last year’s model. Minor upgrades have been introduced to the iPhone 17e. Here’s everything you need to know.

This new handset is actually run by the latest Apple A19 silicon, not the older A18. You get a weaker 4-core GPU here, so it doesn’t really compare with the vanilla iPhone 17. iPhone 16e came with Apple’s custom C1 modem, which is now upgraded to C1X on the iPhone 17e.

As we said, the display quality doesn’t really change with this new handset. It still has that disruptive notch with Face ID on a 6.1” XDR OLED. The super retina resolution is here, meaning 2532 x 1170 pixel count. The selfie camera is 12MP once again, not 18MP like the rumor mill predicted.

Anyway, Apple did put a higher-strength Ceramic Shield 2 glass on the iPhone 17e. The rear camera hardware hasn’t changed either, but they’ve introduced a new processing pipeline for better portrait photography. The camera itself is a 48MP OIS unit with 4K 60FPS Dolby Vision recording support. Here are the Apple iPhone latest prices for the 2026 lineup, primarily based on the Pakistani market.

The big upgrade this year is the official MagSafe support for the iPhone 17e. So you can use all the Mag accessories supported by the other 17 siblings. They didn’t comment on the battery size. We did learn that this newcomer features wired fast charging and 15W wireless input.

There’s a metal frame around the screen, and the sides are completely flat. They’ve added a Magic Button on the side. Inside, you get the usual set of essential tools. There’s NFC, GPS, and Bluetooth 5.3. It does have eSIM support, but the iPhone 17e could run Physical SIMs in some regions.

This is a high-end phone despite the midrange price. So Apple has secured an IP68 rating for the newcomer. By the way, iPhone 17e also has Satellite Emergency SOS. This newcomer will run iOS 26 out of the box. The basic iPhone 17e model has 256GB storage, and its starting price is $599 (~PKR 168,000).
