Previously spotted on various regulatory websites under the model number CPH2557, the device is now the talk of the town due to its alleged features.

The Oppo A79 5G is poised to succeed its predecessor, the Oppo A78 5G, which debuted earlier this year. The smartphone will likely hit the Asian market soon, offering consumers a choice between two stunning colors: Glowing Green and Mystery Black.

Design-wise, the A79 5G will showcase a sleek flat frame and a rectangular rear camera island adorned with stainless steel rings. With a svelte 7.9mm thickness and a weight of 193g, it promises both elegance and portability.

The latest Oppo 5G mobile centers around a generous 6.72-inch punch-hole display, boasting a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (FHD+), a fluid 90Hz refresh rate, and an impressive peak brightness of 680 nits. The display achieves a 91.4% screen-to-body ratio, a 1400:1 contrast, and covers 96% of the NTSC color gamut.

Under the hood, the A79 5G draws the power from MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC, towing 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Furthermore, it offers MicroSD card support, enabling memory expansion by up to 1TB. On the software front, the smartphone runs on ColorOS 13.1, built on the foundation of Android 13.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the dual-camera system on the rear, featuring a high-resolution 50MP Samsung JN1 primary sensor and a 2MP OmniVision OVO2B1B depth sensor. The front of the device sports an 8MP OmniVision OVO8D selfie camera.

Powering it all is a substantial 5,000mAh battery, with the convenience of 33W wired charging support. With these impressive stats and a design that exudes sophistication, the Oppo A79 5G will likely receive a nod from many enthusiasts.
