Say hello to the latest Oppo beast, better known as — Oppo A79 5G. With the promise to deploy in other global markets, the newcomer has taken the stage in India first. It might not break any performance records, but it does pack a punch for its meager asking price. Here’s why this mid-range contender stands out.

First up, Oppo is flaunting an "innovative AI camera" in the A79. The rear camera duo includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor, while a 2-megapixel Omnivision OV02B1B depth sensor provides backup. Selfie enthusiasts won't be disappointed either, thanks to an 8-megapixel front snapper.

The phone doesn't cut corners on the display side. You're looking at a generous 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD waterdrop screen with Panda Glass protection. With a 90Hz refresh rate, 680 nits peak brightness, and 391 ppi, this screen is ready to impress.

Oppo even claims it's a "Sunlight Display," making it easy to use in bright daylight. Plus, it's Widevine L1 certified; you can binge-watch your favorite shows in full 1080p glory with Oppo's latest flagship mobile.

Under the hood, the A79 5G is fueled by a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage, with room for expansion up to a whopping 1TB via a microSD card. Users can double the RAM using the phone’s built-in memory expansion feature.

Now, here's where it gets exciting: the phone secures a massive 5,000 mAh battery wired to a 33W SUPERVOOC charging kit. The A79 5G also brings an IP54 rating, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, and the cherished 3.5mm audio jack.

Out of the package, it's available in Glowing Green and Mystery Black colorways. As for the price, the Oppo A79 5G demands roughly $240 or €225. In Pakistani rupees, the amount converts to approximately Rs 67,500, perfectly justified for an 8+ 128GB device.
