The next flagship gaming phone from Nubia RedMagic has been teased a few times over the last month. They just ran a Geekbench test on the device, and the platform recorded some of its specs in the public directory. We can now openly report ZTE Nubia RedMagic 12 Pro Plus’ performance scores and internals.
By the way, if you didn’t know by now. They want to release the phone on October 15th. The date has been announced already. We just found the handset on Geekbench, well before any of its specs were announced. And well, the specs that matter the most on this gaming phone are already public.
The ZTE latest Nubia mobile hit 3,354 points on single-core. A multicore test run yielded close to 11,448 points on the RedMagic 12 Pro+. There’s only one chip in the world that can put down this kind of performance. The newcomer definitely has a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
CPU information section gave us the code for this chip, which is QTI SM8975. A quick search on Google should tell you the name of this platform. Anyway, this is Qualcomm’s first-ever 2nm SoC. And its CPU has a 5.01 GHz boost clock speed and eight total cores.
There’s 16GB of physical RAM on the phone, by the way. This is probably an LPDDR6 module, but that’s just a guess. The chip does support UFS 5 storage, but using this is entirely up to the company. Apparently, the Nubia NX819J tested on Geekbench is just a prototype.
We might see more RAM options at launch. We also learned that the RedMagic 12 Pro+ has the new Android 17 OS installed out of the factory. They haven’t revealed the design yet, but the company did say it has the most comfortable flagship build. We are curious to see how this plays out. Keep watching the news for more updates.
