Xiaomi Redmi 9T 6GB Edition is Launching in Pakistan Today; Rich in Features, Low in Price

Earlier this week, Xiaomi launched the 4GB+128GB variant of the Redmi 9T in Pakistan. And it’s now being followed up with the 6GB edition. According to Xiaomi Pakistan's social media, the Redmi 9T 6GB+128GB will be launched at 5 PM today.

The Xiaomi Redmi 9T is part of Xiaomi’s new line of budget phones featuring the Snapdragon 662 chip. This series has raised the bar for what cheap phones can offer. Not only is it packed to the brim with features rarely found in its class, but Xiaomi has also priced the Redmi 9T (and other models like it) very aggressively.

Case in point, the Redmi 9T screen. Where phones in its price range have generic 720P displays, the 9T uses a notched 1080P IPS LCD, featuring 400 pixels per inch, toughened with Gorilla Glass 3. Similarly, the onboard dual speakers are Hi-Res audio certified for stereo immersion (a feature mostly reserved for mid-range and flagship phones.)

The Xiaomi Redmi 9T 6GB also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, an infrared port, and NFC support. The fingerprint scanner doubles as the power button. The shell doesn’t have an IP rating, but it’s coated in water-repellent. It’s made of plastic and textured to resist fingerprints. You can pick from blue, orange, green, and charcoal colors.

The Redmi 9T cameras are encased in a squarish housing. We’re looking at a quad-camera array, led by a 48MP, f1.8 wide camera. An 8MP f/2.2 lens with a 120˚ field-of-view takes ultra-wide shots. And a pair of low-res 2MP sensors, meant for depth capturing and macro photos, join it.

As for performance, Xiaomi Redmi 9T is advertised to “go multiple days without being charged.” Its 6000 mAh battery can last you 28 days on standby and 17 hours of video playback. When you do run out, you can fast charge the phone over 18W. Xiaomi also promises 25% less battery degradation compared to other phones, stretching the cell’s life up to 4 years.
