Xiaomi Mi MIX 4, Xiaomi’s most cutting-edge flagship phone yet, made its debut last week. Featuring the first true under-display selfie camera from Xiaomi, the Mi MIX 4 offers a phenomenal notch-free screen, next-gen performance hardware, and unmatched charging speeds. Xiaomi gave us first impressions with an official unboxing clip yesterday.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 comes in an oversized, elegant retail box. Our host removes its contents one by one — the phone, the charging cable, and the heavy-duty power brick.

This charger is the most advanced on the market yet. It intelligently delivers 120W of power to the phone’s 4500 battery, promising a 100% top-up in just 15 minutes! (or 21 minutes if you switch to the default charging mode.) Mi MIX 4 is also compatible with a 50W wireless charging station that recharges the device to capacity in only 28 minutes.

Even with this groundbreaking charging tech, the Mi MIX 4 screen is still its highlight. We’re looking at a 6.67” AMOLED panel that curves along the edges. It hides not just a fingerprint scanner but also the front camera sensor underneath.

Xiaomi redesigned the pixel grid, display circuitry, and AI algorithms to ensure that the visual experience stays seamless. The area above the selfie camera maintains its pixel density at a steady 400 PPI — a quantum leap for UD camera technology. Mi MIX 4 display refreshes at a smooth 120Hz, produces a full HD resolution and is toughened with Gorilla Glass Victus.

The internal hardware is also the most cutting-edge you’ll find in any Android phone right now. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888+ (an overclocked SD888) is at the heart of Mi MIX 4. It works with 8/12GB of memory and 128GB/512GB of onboard storage. Mi MIX 4 carries a Xiaomi mobile price tag of CNY 4,999 (~ Rs. 126,800.)
