Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro Pre-Orders Live in Pakistan with Faster Chips & Bigger Batteries

Usama Rasool

Xiaomi 17T series hit Pakistan as soon as it launched globally without delay, though the prices are a hot topic this time, unlike the 15T lineup. The pre-orders for the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro went live on May 28th. And the window is open until June 21st. The actual shipments will begin after that. This is everything you need to know about these devices.

Xiaomi 17T Pro

A Dimensity 9500 SoC runs at the core, so the Xiaomi 17T Pro is technically a flagship handset. This is a 4.21GHz platform, and the GPU is Mali G1 Ultra MC12. The onboard physical RAM is 12GB, and the storage is 512GB. Hyper OS 3 is the phone’s default OS here, which means Android 16 out of the box.

The camera setup hasn’t changed this time for the most part. They did put a new sensor under the telephoto lens. It’s now a 5X 50MP periscope telephoto zoomer. You’ll see another 50MP main camera there, and in the vicinity, there’s also a 12MP ultrawide.

As you can see, the camera design hasn’t changed a lot. The selfie snapper on the screen is 32MP. Then comes the screen itself at a 6.83” massive size that hits 144Hz refresh rate. The pixels are packed tight at 1.5K resolution, and the brightness goes all the way up to 3500nits.

An IP68 rating will make this handset waterproof, though it’s far from the best. There are two speakers on the frame (Dolby Atmos). A WiFi 7 Bluetooth 6 chip is used on the Xiaomi 17T Pro. Yes, the phone does have an infrared port and a screen fingerprint reader.

They’ve used a 7000mAh Si/C battery here. You can run it for two days straight with a light hand. And the charging speed is 100W on the Xiaomi 17T Pro, or you can drop it on a 50W wireless charging pad. The local retail cost for this newcomer is Rs 289,999.

Xiaomi 17T

This phone has the very same camera setup as the Pro. There’s a 50MP main next to a 50MP 5x telephoto lens. It has a 12MP Ultrawide as well. And a 32MP selfie snapper sits on the screen. Speaking of, the display here is a 6.59” small AMOLED at 1.5K resolution.

Xiaomi 17T does bring down the refresh rate to 120Hz, though its brightness is still the same 3500nits. This one is also IP68 waterproof, but the frame is made of plastic, which is a shame considering the phone’s price. And the phone is also slower than the Pro.

They’ve put a Dimensity 8500 Ultra chip on the vanilla Xiaomi 17T, so the peak clock speed is just 3.4 GHz. We’ll put this phone in the subflagship class. In isolation, though, the phone can handle pretty much everything you throw at it. The system is Android 16 with Hyper OS 3.

Yes, this device also has 12GB RAM. 512GB is the only storage option here. This is the UFS 4.1 module, by the way. The newcomer does have stereo audio and Dolby Atmos/Vision ratings for the screen and sound. Xiaomi 17T will only connect to WiFi 6e. And the battery is also smaller on the vanilla device.

They’ve put a 6500 mAh Si/C cell on the Xiaomi 17T. It’s also slower at charging, since the input is cut down to 67W, with no wireless charging. Xiaomi 17T officially costs Rs 239,999 in Pakistan for the solo 12/512GB memory trim.

(Note: Xiaomi 17T Pro pre-order page has a typo where it says Dimensity 9400+ on the specs table. All the global Xiaomi 17T Pros have Dimensity 9500. Pre-ordering these phones comes with perks. You get a free Smart Band 10 with each order. And they throw in a Fuel card worth Rs 5,000 that can be used at any Total petrol pump. You also get a 3-month subscription to Google Gemini.)
