Xiaomi has a launch event tomorrow. And it’s going to be a big one, since they are planning to unveil the YU7 GT electric SUV there. But we are more interested in the Xiaomi 17 Max’s debut. This newcomer might show up on stage together with some wearable accessories and new smart home products.

They’ve made the announcement and confirmed the date. It’s May 21st, 19:00 CST. Since Pakistan is three hours behind, it’s actually 16:00 local time, or 4 PM. That puts the event just a few hours away, and they continue to tease the Xiaomi 17 Max in the meantime.

The design is not new. Most of the elements match last year’s Xiaomi 15’s design. They didn’t add a second screen to it. They are keeping it locked to just the Pro and Pro Max. We also learned that the Xiaomi new Max mobile is built around a 6.9” AMOLED.

The screen probably has a 1.5K resolution, and there are very slim bezels around it. Obviously, this newcomer will be based on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. The best thing about this Xiaomi 17 Max is the 200MP main camera that the other standard sibling didn’t have.

The company even confirmed the battery. Xiaomi 17 Max books an 8000mAh cell, which is easily a 2-day runner with moderate use, if you don’t push the device too hard. This phone won’t be alone at the event, apparently. We have the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro in the mix.

It seems that the band has more tracking sensors. An NFC touch payment system is added to it. At this point, you might as well call it a smart watch. Band 10 Pro works with Xiaomi Auto. So they are basically integrating it with their EVs.

Xiaomi was also working on its first clip-on earbuds, which they plan to debut tomorrow at said event. They have 11mm drivers. These buds are also given LHDC 5.0 and Hi-Res Gold certifications. We’ll do a full coverage for the Xiaomi 17 Max when it’s launched. Keep watching the news for updates.
