“Bad Omen;” The Outer-Asian cultural reluctance to adopt figure “13” in the products-tags has finally caught up to Xiaomi’s consecutive Mi series. Gossip-slammed as Xiaomi 13’s, the latest range has been teased repeatedly with the number “13” in the moniker.

With its launch nearing the deadline, more reinforced leaks are surfacing on the web. One of those leaks, sourced from Weibo, has exposed the chain’s re-adjusted naming scheme. Previously expected to go by Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro, the lineup is now rumored to deploy as Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro.

Suggestively, the break comes from an image of a carton full of retail boxes slapped on with the Xiaomi 14 tags. The real-time shot comes paired with expected key specs abounding the newcomers. It’s a screenshot of the about section of Mi 14 (2211133C).

Based on the image, the anticipated addition to the Xiaomi rate list natively runs MIUI 14-based Android 13 OS update-maxed to the October level security patch. It features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and 12GB of RAM.

Though the legitimacy of both images is under question, it does feel like something Xiaomi would do to avoid downward spiraling sales. Since number 13 goes for a bad omen in most regions, smartphone companies often try to prevent these figures in their products.

According to a former report, the alleged Mi 14 and Mi 14 Pro plan to flaunt 6.26-inch and 6.7-inches AMOLED screens, respectively. Design-spilling images of the Mi 14-series are also doing rounds on the internet. We’ll add some of those here to give you an idea about its prospective blueprint.
