What Makes Tecno Camon 12 Air a Best-Seller

Budget-minded phones have a typical set of expectations associated with them, and not many smartphone manufacturers push those rigidly-defined boundaries. Said another way, there are some features that you don’t expect to see in entry-level smartphones. That being said, there are brands whose offerings defy expectations and push the limits for what a pocket-friendly price bracket can bring. Tecno’s latest smartphone – the Camon 12 Air, is one such offering.

First things first, The Tecno Camon 12 Air design. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a punch-hole-toting smartphone for a price tag this low. Pictured below, you’re looking at a 6.55-inch bezel-free display that produces an HD+ resolution and houses the front-facing selfie camera inside a punch-hole cut-out on the top-left corner.

On the back of Camon 12 Air, you get a Triple-Camera setup (again, not a feature typical of most budget-friendly smartphones), aligned in a vertical arrangement. A capacitive fingerprint reader flanks the three-lens camera module that is embedded inside a trendy gradient-sporting back panel. The rear panel is offered in Bay Blue and Royal Purple Hues.

The primary of these three lenses is a 16-megapixel shooter that is rounded off by a 5-megapixel ultrawide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Sitting inside the punch-hole is a modest 8-megapixel selfie shooter.

The internal hardware can be considered robust if you take the price bracket into account. At the heart of Camon 12 Air, you have a MediaTek P20 chipset that offers decent CPU performance and is accompanied by an impressive memory configuration: 4 GB of RAM + 64 GB of onboard storage. If you find the native storage lacking, you can expand it up to 128 GB thanks to its dedicated microSD card slot. Last but not least, powering this hardware is a 4,000 mAh power cell.
