Vivo Y90 Now Retailing With a Discount in Pakistan; A Notched Entry-level Offering

Vivo introduced its entry-level Vivo Y90 back in July last year with a price competitive price tag of 18,999 PKR and slashed 2,000 PKR off it shortly after. And now the Chinese manufacturer is offering another discount on the 16,999 PKR retail Vivo price. To recall, the Y90 features a notched design with a single-lens camera.

As per the official Vivo Pakistan’s website, with a 1,000 PKR price-slash, the Vivo Y90 is now available for 15,999 PKR. And for that affordable price, you get a 6.22-inch Halo ‘FullView’ display that produces an HD+ resolution and an 88.6% screen-to-body ratio.

Note that the term ‘FullView’ might be a bit misleading since the phone touts a drop-notch. The rear shell features a slightly dated design, with a single-module lens sitting on the top left corner of the panel and Vivo’s branding in the center.

The polycarbonate panel sports matte-like Black and Gold color options, and curves towards the edges, giving you a more ergonomic form factor. The phone lops off the fingerprint scanner, but you can use facial detection to unlock your device with ‘Face Access.’

You get a modest 8-megapixel camera on the back and an AI-enhanced 5-megapixel sensor for capturing selfies. Under its hood, the Y90 rocks an equally dated MediaTek Helio A22 chipset clocked at 2.0 GHz, with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of onboard storage. It can be expanded up to 256 GB thanks to microSD card support. There’s also a 16 GB + 2 GB variant if you’re going for the bare minimum.

The hardware runs on an Android-8.1-based FunTouch OS 4.5 and is powered by a 4030 mAh battery (but evidently no support for fast-charging.)
