Vivo Y51's Price in Pakistan Slashed by Rs 2,000; AMOLED Screen and Fast Charging On the Cheap

Launched in late September 2020, the Vivo Y51 has just got a successor by the name of Vivo Y51s and probably that's the reason for this price cut. The Y51 is a budget phone with an interesting mix of high-end and entry-level features. And it just got cheaper.

Vivo hasn’t made it official with an announcement yet, but the Local market tells WhatMobile that the Vivo Y51 is now retailing for Rs. 32,999. Since it previously cost Rs. 34,999 , Vivo is offering a Rs. 2000 discount.

First things first, we’ll look at the premium features. Vivo Y51 has a Super AMOLED screen, 6.38” in size with a 1080P resolution. An optical fingerprint scanner is embedded into it. With a drop notch claiming the screen real-estate, the Y51 hits a 90% screen to body ratio.

Right now it's the only device in the Vivo price list to receive the cut but we do expect a few more price drops in coming weeks. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 — it came out in early 2019 — powers the Vivo Y51. Not to mention a 4500 mAh battery with 18W fast charging. 4GB of memory keeps apps running in the background. And you get 128GB of internal storage (expandable with a microSD card.) Finally, the Android10-based FunTouchOS runs on it out of the box.

Vivo Y51 encases its quad-camera array in a diamond-shaped plate, positioned in the middle. It features a 48MP primary sensor, combined with an f/1.8 lens, an 8MP 120˚ ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor. We're looking at a plastic shell available in three colors, Dreamy White, Jazzy Blue, and Mystic Black.

The image-processing supports a host of photography features — HDR, portrait, Super Night Camera, and electronic image stabilization for 1080P videos. The selfie camera is 16MP.
