Vivo Y400’s Pakistani Launch Set for September 2; Here’s What to Expect

The date is officially set for Vivo Y400’s debut in Pakistan. The phone will arrive in our market next week on 2nd September. Vivo has started teasing this newcomer on social media, and among the early details, the spotlight is tightly centred on its underwater durability. Here’s what you need to know about the Vivo Y400.

The phone’s speciality is a balanced price-to-performance ratio and an IP69 durability rating that competes on the flagship level. You can take this phone for a swim, dive 1.5m deep in water for 30 minutes without a drop of water entering the chassis.

It also survived prolonged testing with 80°C hot water jets, so spilling hot tea on your phone won’t be a problem. Every phone needs to check a few boxes to claim underwater photography: camera processing for a clear view in water, and a wet-touch feature for accurate touch registration. Vivo Y400 has both of them.

Durability is just a small part of what makes the Vivo Y new model special. There’s a 6000mAh battery inside this thing, wired to a 44W fast charging input for quick refills. This is a Si/C cell that’s thin and lightweight to help the phone with its proportions, not to forget its ability to recharge faster than a normal power source.

The screen on this phone is a flat 6.67” AMOLED with a semi-decent 1080p FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut range and supports 1800nits peak brightness level for high readability under the sun.

The chipset choice could’ve been improved, though. Inside the Vivo Y400 lies a Snapdragon 685 SoC, which limits the network to 4G LTE. This is a 6nm energy-efficient silicon with a peak clock speed of 2.8GHz. The CPU performance is reasonable, but it may struggle with GPU-heavy tasks, like gaming.

The camera setup is rather ordinary: 50MP + 2MP combo on the back, and a front selfie shooter with an 8MP sensor. Its firmware is based on the latest Android 15 x FunTouch 15 system. Compared with the newer-upouched Vivo Y300, the model has a bigger battery and somewhat improved optimization as a weightier option. Vivo Y400 is coming to the local stores in Dynamic Green and Pearl White finishes. Its price tag hasn’t come out yet, but luckily, the launch is just two days away. We’ll report the cost once it goes official. Keep watching the news.
