The company teased the Vivo Y400 to arrive in Pakistan on September 2nd. As promised, the newcomer is finally here. It goes on retail with 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, and dual colors. The Y400 is one of the few devices in the segment with a 6000mAh battery and IP69 water resistance.

This new device specializes in underwater photography. An IP69 rating keeps this phone safe when submerged, and the Wet-hand feature accurately predicts the touch input. The water won’t damage your Vivo Y400 as long as you stay underwater within a depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

Apparently, it’s also safe from hot water jets of up to 80°C. The 3-star military-grade construction should provide adequate drop safety, and the IP6X rating will keep the dust particles out of the frame. SGS tested the Vivo Y400 for up to 50 months of fluency.

Vivo Y400’s durability and reliability are top-notch, as established by all these ratings. But what about its hardware and performance? When it comes to raw power, the Vivo Y new model is pretty average with a Snapdragon 685 chip running the show. It’s a two-year-old 6nm chip and aging fast. The integrated Adreno 610 GPU barely keeps up with modern games.

At least it doesn’t falter on the power side. The phone has a massive 6000mAh BlueVolt battery, wired to a 44W fast charging input for quick refills. This is a Si/C cell, which is thin and lightweight to help the phone with its proportions. There’s 40,000 mm² of cooling area on the rear shield to keep the battery from heating up.

Vivo Y400 has a mid-size screen with a flat 6.67” AMOLED. This is a decently sharp panel of 1080p FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut range and supports 1800nits peak brightness level for high readability under the sun.

The rear-facing camera is a 50MP Sony IMX852 with a 2MP depth mapper. Its selfie camera is just a basic 8MP unit. Vivo Y400 has an Android 15 x Funtouch OS 15 system, which is stacked with AI features to enhance your photos. The color options are limited to Dynamic Green and Pearl White. The device officially costs Rs 64,999 for the 8/256GB option.

It comes with a 1-Year Warranty, 15-day replacement guarantee, and a Zong special offer (2GB data per month for six months) if you put your SIM in the primary slot of the device. There’s also a 6-month warranty for the accessories in the box.
