Vivo Y37c Goes Official with Unisoc Chip, 6.74-inch LCD & 5500mAh Battery

Vivo Y37c is the latest member in the company’s Y series, and it’s built around a Unisoc T7225 chipset and a traditional waterdrop notch LCD screen. Vivo has clearly positioned this device as an entry-level phone in the home country, and here’s what it offers.

There’s a standard HD+ 720p LCD screen on the front, measured at 6.74 inches. The brightness peaks at around 570 nits, which is a modest number and could make the screen hard to read under direct sunlight. This IPS LCD also lacks a high refresh rate.

The waterdrop notch and the thick chin on this screen are hard to ignore, but it’s something you’ll get used to over time. There’s a 5 MP selfie camera at the top, and the rear-mounted camera unit provides a solo 13MP Main sensor right beside a decorative lens.

An important thing to note on Y37c is that it only comes with Android 14 OS out of the box, not the latest version 15. The Chinese variant has an Origin OS user interface, but if the device is released in other regions, the overlay will be FunTouch OS. The OS disparity may influence where this model lands on Vivo’s rate list.

Vivo Y37c doesn’t compromise on durability, as it comes with an IP64 rating for full dust ingress protection and minor shielding against water splashes. There’s a 3.5mm jack, a type-C port, and a side fingerprint ID mounted on top of the power key. This device also supports 2D facial recognition.

Vivo also crammed in a 5500mAh battery inside this new handset, which you can refill at a standard 15W rate. It powers a Unisoc T7225 silicon, a 1.8GHz 4G-enabled platform popular among entry-level phones. Vivo Y37c provides 6 GB of RAM alongside this chipset and 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage.

The device also supports virtual RAM and a micro SD card in case you need more memory or storage space. Vivo Y37c is only available in China for now, with a solo 6GB + 128GB trim costing CNY 749 (~PKR 29,000). Whether it will be released outside China has yet to be announced. We’ll keep an eye out for any future news regarding this device, so stay tuned for updates.
