Tech blogs are going haywire with news surrounding Vivo's latest Y-series phones. According to the latest reports, the company has planned two new inclusions in this series. They are branding the upcoming phones as Vivo Y22 and Vivo Y22S. We have spotted the monikers on TKDN (an Indonesian certification database website) labeled V2207/Vivo Y22 and V2206/Vivo Y22S.

A well-grounded leaker at Rootmygalaxy, Paras Guglani, has corroborated their registration. Furthermore, the leaks from Passionategeekz outline key features of the Vivo Y22 duo that we will unravel here.

To start things off, both Y22 and Y22S will feature an ordinary 6.44" display peaking at 720 x 1600 resolution. Vivo's recent Y21 series has an 81% screen-to-body ratio. The company has shaved off the bezels to an immersive ~89% screen-to-body ratio for the Y22 series. The Y22S being the expensive one will secure a 90Hz panel.

Per the rumors, Vivo has outfitted the Vivo new Y models with the same processor as its Y21 series — MediaTek Helio P35 chipset with an integrated (PowerVR GE8320) GPU. Each device has different Storage + RAM configuration. Vivo Y22 will have a 4GB + 64GB combo. At the same time, Vivo Y22S will get a 6GB + 128GB combo. Both phones will support a dedicated MicroSD slot.

The duo is going to have an 8MP snapper mounted up front. We have not yet received any word about the rear camera situation. We will cover camera details soon, so stay tuned. Both phones will get a 5000 mah battery built-in with 18W charging support. The system will run on Android 12 x Funtouch 12 UI. The Power key of the device will double as a fingerprint scanner. The phones will drop in two colors, Starlight Blue and Summer Cyan.
