Vivo is coming out with yet another entry-level phone soon. The Vivo Y12s sibling, Y12A was found in the wild by MySmartPrice ahead of its upcoming launch. The publication also gives us the specification sheet of the phone.

As seen in the image attached with the report, which features a stack of Vivo Y12A retail boxes, this budget Vivo phone is ready for launch. It’s not an entirely new device but a mild refresh of the still-recent Y12s. Vivo recycled its notched build with the rectangular camera cutout.

For starters, the chipset inside the Y12A is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439. Following in the footsteps of most Vivo Y-series phones, the chip is old-gen and first launched in 2018. The 3GB+32GB memory and storage value feels similarly out of place in 2021.

We’re looking at a 6.51” IPS LCD. It's a generic panel that delivers a 720P resolution in an entry-level market flooded with 1080P screens. The camera encased in its notch uses an 8MP sensor. Flip the Vivo Y12A over to find a 13MP wide lens and a 2MP portrait sensor at an affordable Vivo mobile price.

It’s all powered by an adequate 5000 mAh battery that lacks any fast charging support. The brick shipped with the box is capped at 10W. Vivo Y12A also has a slot for storage expansion. And the latest Android11-based FunTouchOS 11 runs on it.

The exact launch timeline is still up for speculation, but folks over at MySmartPrice note that the Vivo Y12A will be introduced in major Asian markets — possibly including Pakistan.
