Vivo X300 Officially Confirmed with 200MP Main Camera; Other Sensors Spotted in Leak

Vivo X300 series might debut in mid-October, if the brand follows its usual launch itinerary. The lineup will feature vanilla X300 and X300 Pro models from the get-go, and Vivo’s product manager in China has already confirmed the camera details for one of these devices.

On Weibo, Han Baxiao revealed that only a single 200MP camera is found on the base Vivo X300, paired with two other lenses for Ultrawide and Telephoto zoom. It seems to be an ISOCELL HP10 primary sensor, which the brand conveniently renamed to “HPB 200MP” camera.

This is a 1/1.4” wide-aperture lens with 23mm focal length. Last time, Vivo used a 50MP Main camera on the X200, so jumping to 200MP is a huge leap forward for this next-gen base model. Vivo X300 will also mount an additional Sony IMX885 telephoto sensor with 3X zoom.

The official Weibo post had limited details, but Digital Chat Station helped fill the gaps. His leak on Weibo outed the exact specs of the telephoto and wide-angle cameras on the latest Vivo flagship mobile. Assuming these details are legit, the newcomer will be able to optically zoom to about 70mm focal range using a 1/2inch sensor, possibly with OIS stabilization in tow.

The lens will have a folding prism construction to refract the light onto the sensor. DCS claims it might also have Autofocus to support telephoto macro shots. There will be a third ultrawide sensor on the camera array, likely a 50MP Samsung JN1 or a JN5 sensor. The specifics remain unconfirmed.

Vivo X300 and X300 Pro both use the same chip: a Dimensity 9500 platform. The rumor mill believes it has all-big-core architecture, and this could be the first silicon from MediaTek to cross 4GHz clock speeds. Integrated on this chip is an Immortalis-Drago GPU with improved ray tracing.

Dimensity 9500 still trails behind Qualcomm’s latest 4.7GHz Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. Both chips are unannounced, by the way, so take these details with a dash of sarcasm. There is still plenty of time for more specs to come out, so keep watching the news for updates.
