The globally rebranded V80 didn’t receive any announcement, but at least they’ve confirmed the launch date for the Vivo S60 series in China. Any speculations or rumors about this lineup should help you figure out the specs for the Vivo V80 series, since they are basically identical devices meant for different regions. Here’s what we found about the launch.
The Vivo S60 series got an official teaser today. There was a launch date on it, and we got a peek at the design of one of the member devices. May 29th is the official day of release for both the Vivo S60 and S26e. We may see other models, like the S60 Pro Mini. But we have yet to find definitive proof.
By the way, the design you see on this Vivo Latest S model is described as a Silver White shade with the texture of chimering reflections of the summer sea. That rear panel will create a flowing light effect, which may change with viewing angles. Quite poetic, but the teaser doesn’t really paint the full picture.
Everything is wound tightly around the optics. They say the Vivo S60 has a new Live Photo feature. Vivo boasts that it’s one of the best Live imaging experiences in the industry, but it’s hard to believe that it compares with the likes of iPhone 17 Pro and Galaxy S26 Ultra. So we’ll believe it when we see it.
There’s also something new in the camera that they call Starlight Live. That mode can detect bright highlights in the photos. So it can tweak the atmosphere and the subject’s visual appeal. And remember, these specs are coming to the S60 series, which means they might ultimately end up inside the Vivo V80 lineup.
Well, Vivo hasn’t spilled any specifics. But the rumor mill predicts the normal S60 is built on a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. This will be a huge boon to performance. The screen on top is a 6.59” OLED at a 1.5K resolution. And they might try to fit a 7,200 mAh cell on the chassis.
Magnetic accessories might also be supported here, or at least that’s what the rumor mill suggests. There’s probably a Sony IMX8xx periscope telephoto lens on it, and the leakers advise full IP68/IP69 waterproof ratings. We’ll have more updates for you later. Keep watching the news.
