Tecno Pova 7 & Pova 7 Pro Global Rollout Begins with 6000mAh Battery, 144Hz Display

Tecno introduced the Pova 7 series a few days ago with five brand-new devices, but their specifics were kept hidden from the public. Two of those newcomers, the Pova 7 and Pova 7 Pro, have now entered the Asian market, and we finally get to see each variant in excruciating detail. Here’s everything you need to know.

Tecno Pova 7 Pro

This is the higher-end model, and it’s treated as such with a gorgeous AMOLED 6.78” screen at the front. It refreshes at a 144Hz rate, and the resolution is just shy of a 1440p WQHD+ quality. This display has a peak brightness of 4500 nits, not to mention the 2340Hz PWM dimming support, which reduces eye fatigue.

There’s an optical fingerprint reader under the screen and a 13MP selfie camera at the top. Flip it over and you’ll see a 64MP main sensor (Sony IMX682) inside the triangular island, and an 8MP ultrawide lens right beside it. Tecno’s custom HiOS 15 skin and the dedicated camera app manage the photography.

Both phones actually have the same battery size at 6000mAh. They each have 45W wired charging as well. But only the Pro variant offers you a wireless charging coil for up to a 30W input. This massive battery powers a Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chip, which is efficient and known for decent gaming performance.

The Pova 7 Pro pairs the chip with 8GB of RAM. Buyers can either get this phone with 128GB or 256GB of storage. The variants cost $222 (~PKR 63,000) and $234 (~PKR 66,000) respectively. Geek Black, Dynamic Grey, and Neon Cyan are the color options for this model.

Tecno Pova 7

This one has simpler specifications and a cheaper price tag. There’s no AMOLED display here. It has an IPS LCD on the front, which is just bright enough at 800 nits for a passable user experience. But, it is quite massive at 6.78” with the same 144Hz refresh rate as the Pro model. The resolution on Pova 7 is dropped down to FHD+ 1080p.

There’s a 13MP selfie camera on this phone. Over on the back, Tecno has mounted a single 50MP sensor on the Pova 7 with an auxiliary lens for support. A Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chip handles the processing for all your photos and videos. And there’s a 6000mAh battery inside it for long gaming sessions.

The vanilla model supports 45W charging backup as well, but there’s no wireless charging here. That is only for the expensive Pro model. The phone has 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage options. Each of these phones has a Delta LED interface around the camera, which acts as a customizable notification status similar to Nothing phones.

The standard Pova 7 will be shipped in Geek Black, Magic Silver, and Oasis Green colors. Its starting price is $175 (~PKR 49,000), which increases to $187 (~PKR 53,000) if you choose the option with more storage.
