Tecno Pop X 5G has gone official in one of the Asian markets. We’ve seen this design before on the Tecno Spark 50. It’s very clearly a rebranded device with all the same specs, sans the lower-resolution main camera. This is everything we found on Tecno Pop X.

The phone might be intended for the global market, but first, it has hit retail in India. The phone has a metal camera deco on a plastic frame. It’s an Aerospace 6-series Aluminum lens enclosure. Sadly, it’s only for appearances because the camera underneath is a measly 13MP outsole.
There’s a selfie shooter on the screen in a punch hole. It’s an 8MP sensor. By the way, Spark 50 has a 50MP main camera. The rest of the specs are shared across the board. Even their chips are identical. The new Tecno Pop mobile runs everything on a Dimensity 6400 SoC.

That’s a 2.5GHz 8-core engine, and its iGPU is a Mali G57. The storage it runs is UFS 2.2, though it goes up to 128GB. The RAM is also quite limited here. There’s one variant with 4GB memory, and the other has 6GB. The screen is ordinary, but favorable for the price range, of course.

Tecno Pop X is built around a 6.78” IPS display, which has a 120Hz refresh rate. The visuals will be smooth, and the chipset will be a big help in rendering the sharp image. But the native screen resolution is only 720p. The visuals will be soft, and the backlight will be capped at 560nit brightness.

This newcomer does have an IP64 rating for water protection, and the frame itself is 8.2mm thick. It’s a shockproof military-grade design, by the way. No AMOLED means the fingerprint ID is on the side. There’s a headphone jack and an SD card slot. The default OS on the Pop X is Android 16 HiOS 16.
There are more than a few AI tools in the package. AI Call Noise Cancellation and AI Eraser 2.0 are the main ones. You get a 6500mAh battery with this handset, and it recharges over a 45W input. Tecno Pop X 5G’s official base price is only $172 (~PKR 48,000) for the 4/128GB trim.
