Tecno Camon 15 Gets a Price Cut in Pakistan, Now Available at just Rs 21,499

Now that the Tecno Camon 16 series is only two days away from its big AR launch, the brand is knocking Rs. 1,000 off the Camon 15. Instead of Rs. 22,499, it’ll set you back Rs. 21,499. Let’s recount what you get for that price.

The Tecno Camon 15 is far from minimalistic. Its busy, detailed, and textured. The back is painted in Fascinating Purple and Shoal Gold — soft gradients on a ridged texture. A lengthened camera bump and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner occupy the top half.

It’s plastic (no surprises there) but the edges are chamfered and the corners softened. Flip the phone over to find a 6.6 HD+ panel with a hole punch cut out in its corner.

Inside the housing, is a 16MP AI-powered camera. Tecno’s image processing promises HDR, customizable AI beautification, and real-time image optimization. For low-light selfies, there are two flashes embedded on the top bezel.

The four cameras on the backplate feature a 48MP standard camera and three auxiliary sensors — a 2MP lens for bokeh shots, a 2cm close-up lens, and a ‘TAIVOS’ AI lens that feeds into the ‘Ultra Night’ mode.

The performance, however, is where Tecno skimps on. A very mediocre MediaTek Helio P22 processor powers the device, along with a 5,000 mAh battery with no fast charge. Your apps are loaded on to 4GB of memory and your data is stored in 64GB of onboard space. The software experience is the previous-gen HiOS 6.0 based on Android10. If its name wasn’t a giveaway, HiOS follows the iOS-like design language universal to Chinese smartphone brands. Except that it’s brighter and more colorful.
