Samsung’s tri-fold model is also coming to the market soon, after the trend set by Huawei’s Mate XT. This massive triple folding device proved there is a niche demand for the product, and Samsung also wants a piece of the pie. But, in a typical Samsung fashion, the company’s rumored tri-fold has sullied our expectations with mediocre 25W charging speeds.
There’s a leak roaming the web which states that the Galaxy tri-fold will be a slow charging device likely to reach 25W maximum inputs. The company will advertise this figure as its typical charge rating, but the leaker advises that the real number might be even lower on paper.
Samsung was once considered a risk-taker and innovator in the smartphone space, but it has since started developing stable products with charging speeds limited to either 25 watts or at best, 45 watts. It would seem that Galaxy Tri-fold belongs to the former category.
Chinese companies, in comparison, have progressed far ahead in terms of pure charging numbers. The current standard among Chinese phones is 90W wired, and some flagship phones like Xiaomi 15 Ultra have even achieved wireless support of up to 80W and 10W reverse wireless input.
@PandaFlashPro leaked the details on X and touted 23W to 24W peak rating for Samsung’s new Fold model, which might actually be advertised as 25W. There’s little information about the device’s battery, so it’s hard to predict whether it will be enough for an average user.
Still, 25W is quite underwhelming to see on such an innovative product. Therefore, Samsung could face a backlash over the phone’s subpar charging speeds. Some details about its camera have also come to light. Reports say that an under display front camera is also a possibility with Samsung's triple folding phone, but there’s no concrete information on the topic.
Some believe that this product will demand a high price, possibly $2000. Samsung doens’t expect many sales out of this device, so the initial production will be limited. As always, we’ll be here to report everything that comes up on the internet regarding Galaxy Tri-fold, so be sure to stick around for all the latest developments. Meanwhile, Samsung is also rumored to be working on a more affordable Galaxy Fold SE, which could launch alongside or shortly after the Tri-fold.
