All the commotion over the Galaxy Z Fold series launch hasn’t slowed down the monthly security updates from Samsung. Galaxy S23 series was just hit with the July 2026 patch update for all three devices in the lineup, and this is everything we learned from the Changelog.
This update is not global yet, but it will be when the cycle finally ends in Korea. It’s limited to the home market for now, though. Well, we’ve covered the July patch several times this month, so most of you must be familiar with the contents of the update at this point. But we’ll give a short rundown for those out of the loop.
The July update has been fixing at least 57 new vulnerabilities that were discovered in the last firmware build, and most of them come from Google, around 41 to be specific. And then come 16 Samsung SVEs that specifically target the problems in One UI.
By the way, this security patch is said to polish any One UI system built around Android 14 to Android 16. Galaxy S23, S23+, or S23 Ultra are obviously eligible. It’s late in the month, but they finally grabbed the July update in South Korea, and later we’ll see the same updates globally.
Anyway, the changelog screenshot that came from Tarun Vats’ leak on X is for the Galaxy S23+. The update size seems to be 406.60MB, so it’s a very small package to download. The phone will have the new build number after its July update: S916NKSS8FZG1.
New firmware versions post-update for the vanilla S23 and S23 Ultra are S911NKSS8FZG1 and S918NKSS8FZG1. The actual size of the update might be similar on all three. There’s usually minimal variance with these types of updates.
Pakistani Galaxy S23 owners can definitely look forward to it. “Check for Update” in the Software Updates menu in Settings. And when the phone does unlock the update, all you need to do is hit “Download and Install,” and your S23 will take care of the rest. Keep watching the news for more updates.
