Samsung Galaxy A36 Picks Up March 2026 Security Update in More Regions

Another over-the-air update awaits you if you are a Galaxy A36 owner. The new firmware is built around the March 2026 security patch, which is supposed to identify and patch 65 vulnerabilities in the current OS version. This is everything we learned about the update.

The update obviously began the rollout back at home base, South Korea. It took them around a week to actually make the update global, and now it’s being deployed on the Vietnamese Galaxy A36 variant. But don’t worry, because it’s just the beginning of a wider release.

We’ll get the same security patch in Pakistan for Samsung's new 5G mobile soon enough. And you’ll be able to identify it with a firmware version A366BXXS8BZC2, or a number closely resembling this one. Like we told you, this new update is all about security.

Generally speaking, this patch has been fixing most Galaxy devices for 60 vulnerabilities in the core Android system. They are actually Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs), fixes for which are usually provided by Google. The other five patches are from Samsung itself.

Eight vulnerabilities are Critical, and 52 are high risk. So Samsung recommends that you install the update as soon as your phone is able to grab it from their servers. Also, installing the updates is as easy as always.

What you need to do is check if the update is available in the region or not. Hit the Settings and scroll all the way down to the Software Updates section. Sometimes the phone does a background scan and already shows what update is available and directly prompts a Download button.

But if there’s nothing in the menu, you’ll have to tap the Check for Update button. Your Galaxy A36 will do a quick scan. The new firmware should appear with a changelog once the update is unlocked in Pakistan. Then, all you have to do is press Download and install, and wait for the phone to reboot.
