Samsung Galaxy A31 Crops Up in Geekbench Listings; Processor and Memory Details Revealed

Faisal Rasool

The seemingly never-ending slew of Samsung’s next-gen Galaxy A family is soon to include another member -- the Samsung Galaxy A31. The model recently surfaced on Geekbench, along with a few key specifications detailing its tested performance. Since it has found its way onto Geekbench’s listing, its official launch should be just around the block.

Reportedly, Galaxy A31 is scheduled to debut in March, where Samsung A41 will join it. Coming back to the listing itself, it mentions the former device by its model number SM-A315F which scored 349 and 1,291 points, respectively, on single and multicore benchmarking tests.

The processor is listed as ARM MT6768V/CA, which is baked into the MediaTek Helio P65 platform. The octa-core chip is clocked at 1.70 GHz and paired with up to 4 GB of RAM. As for the SoC, it is designed for mid-range builds and was introduced in June last year. In terms of performance, it falls into the same bracket as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 712 but will also carry an affordable Samsung Price Tag.

There’s no further system information, save for the OS details. The Galaxy A31 is to be powered by Android 10, with Samsung’s OneUI 2.0 running on top. You can also find Galaxy A31 bearing the same model number on the WiFi Alliance database as well. According to previous reports revolving around the upcoming phone, Samsung has bumped up the battery capacity from 4,000 mAh (which Galaxy A30 launched with) to 5,000 mAh. Speculation also has it that the phone will feature a 48-megapixel triple camera and an AMOLED display that produces an HD+ resolution.

But since its predecessor rocked an FHD+ Super AMOLED screen, it’s unlikely that Samsung will downgrade to an entry-level panel. The purported 48-megapixel lens and the third unknown sensor, on the other hand, are a significant improvement over last year’s dual 16-megapixel primary shooter. Additional details about memory variants, Samsung Prices, and design are scarce right now, but we’ll keep you posted.
