Redmi Note 17 Pro to Launch Next Week; Teaser Shows a Large 9000mAh Battery

14th July is the official launch date for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 series. It’s not the global release. The phones will actually debut in China first, as is the tradition. This was just confirmed in a bunch of teasers that Xiaomi recently dropped on Weibo. And it’s not just the date; key features on the Redmi Note 17 Pro are also being teased.

The leaked specs were corrected at the very last minute in a recent report. There were rumors that the Note 17 Pro would get a 10,100mAh battery. But that’s not really the case. This newcomer is actually getting a 9000mAh battery, which is the same as the basic Note 17.

This handset will charge over a 67W input, so it should be fast enough. And because it’s a 9000mAh battery, the Xiaomi latest redmi model basically works as a makeshift power bank with a reverse 22.5W output. But that’s not all.

They are so confident in the phone’s longevity that if someone did manage to drop the health below 80% in four years, a free battery replacement is being promised. It seems they are also quite proud of the screen they’ve put on the Redmi Note 17 Pro.

They say it’s a flat panel (probably AMOLED). And this will be a 1.5K resolution screen that has a peak 3,500 nits of brightness in isolated spots. This will probably work when HDR is active. The nominal brightness will be lower. Redmi Note 15 Pro had 3,200 nits peak or 1,800 nits (HBM).

There was another teaser from Redmi. It basically confirmed what type of screen guard is used on the Note 17 Pro, and the kind of IP rating it passed. Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and an IP69K rating make the phone pretty durable, at least on paper. Not everything is revealed in teasers, though.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 could be the chipset used on the Redmi Note 17 Pro, and this phone potentially has a 200MP camera (via leaks), though we haven’t come across any solid lead that could verify the optics yet. We’ll get back to you when we have the details. Keep watching the news for more updates.
