Redmi Note 15 5G Globally Announced; 4G Variant Joins with Identical Camera & Design

The vanilla Note 15 also has a 4G variant now. Xiaomi has just unveiled the Redmi Note 15 lineup globally, starting with Europe. They added five devices to the family, instead of just the three versions that China saw. We’ve already posted a separate coverage on the Pro series. This one’s all about the Redmi Note 15 5G and Note 15.

These two models aren’t as different as you think. Their designs are the same, and they fit the same display at the top. Both 4G and 5G Redmi Note 15 siblings have 6.77” AMOLEDs that curve at the edges. This panel is 3200 nits, by the way. The resolution is just 1080p FHD+. It’s obviously not as sharp as the Pro devices.

At least the 120Hz refresh rate and 20MP selfie camera are consistent across the board. Plus, both Redmi Note 15 devices have the same 108MP Samsung HM9 main camera. The 5G version has the upper hand because it also brings an 8MP ultrawide unit.

The 4G variant doesn’t have that ultrawide camera feature. It’s rather stuck with a 108MP main and a 2MP depth mapper. They have different chips as well. The Redmi 5G new model has a big advantage as it uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. The 4G version, however, only scored an entry-level Helio G100 Ultra silicon.

You can’t tell the difference in design, but they do have separate color palettes. Plus, the battery is bigger in the 5G version. It’s 6000mAh on the Note 15 5G, but with a slower 33W charging support. The capacity is smaller on the Note 15 4G at 5520mAh, but the charging is way faster at 45W.

The next difference is minute, but it’s still there. The Redmi Note 15 5G is IP65 rated, so this may be a bit more secure from water splashes. The 4G version can only resist low-power water jets and splashes. The latter must be kept out of water for safety.

These Xiaomi newcomers are running the old Android 15 system with Hyper OS 2. They didn’t bring Android 16 to these phones because that would’ve been unfair to the Chinese market, where they arrived early.

That pretty much covers the vanilla Redmi Note 15 duo. We also have their official price tags here: the (6/128GB) Note 15 5G is €279 (~PKR 91,000), and the Note 15 4G with the same memory trim is €229 (~PKR 75,000).
