Last year's Realme 7i just got cheaper. The budget-friendly phone is now available for a discount, Realme Pakistan announced on their social media. It features the Snapdragon 662, pitting it against the Xiaomi POCO M3’s of the world. We’ll take a look at how it fares against the competition.

Until now, the Realme 7i was retailing for Rs. 39,999. Realme has cut Rs. 3,000 off the price, and it’s on sale now for Rs. 36,999. Realme 7 series reflects the ongoing “Oppo-fication” of the Realme brand. Where once it was an enthusiast-focused company, the present generation of Realme phones is missing the value aspect that was at the core.

Case in point, the POCO M3 (in addition to the new line budget Xiaomi phones) matches or even exceeds the Realme 7i specification sheet for a much more affordable price.

Where the Realme 7i has a low-res 720P display operating at 90Hz, the M3 uses a 1080P IPS LCD. It’s a 6.5” screen, toughened with Gorilla Glass. Similarly, the M3 features dual speakers and a larger battery capacity. And not to mention the Xiaomi's M3 is still cheaper, despite the Realme mobile price going down.

The Snapdragon 662 inside the Realme 7i runs on a 5000 mAh battery, capable of fast charging over 18W. RealmeUI, based on Android10, runs on this hardware.

You get up to 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage. Plus, it can be expanded with a microSD card. A 3.5mm headphone jack is present. And the fingerprint sensor is mounted on the back. Realme 7i comes in Aurora Green and Polar Blue colors.

Lastly, the Realme 7i camera system features a 64MP f/1.8 camera, an 8MP FoV 119° ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP B&W sensor. The camera app supports not just a dedicated night mode but also a set of night filters. Video recording uses software magic to stabilize the shots. Selfies are taken with an AI-powered 16MP camera.
