Poco F8 Ultra Debuts Globally with Flagship Specs, Huge Battery & Bose Subwoofer

The Poco F8 series launch met our expectations. Only two devices were unveiled yesterday, both Redmi K90 spin-offs. The vanilla model couldn’t join the series. We have already covered the Poco F8 Pro in a separate news article. This is everything you need to know about the Xiaomi Poco F8 Ultra

This newcomer is based on the company’s Redmi K90 Pro Max, so it isn’t exactly original. All the specs are borrowed, except the battery, which is smaller on the Poco F8 Ultra. A 6500mAh battery is mounted inside this device with 100W wired and 50W wireless input for backup.

This is a true flagship device, by the way. You get all the latest bells and whistles here, like the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and a Tri 50MP camera. The former is a 4.6GHz mobile SoC — the best in class, at least in the Android realm. The industry’s fastest 512GB UFS 4.1 storage and 16GB LPDDR5X RAM are also packaged the Xiaomi Poco new model

That screen you see on the front is a 6.9” OLED. It is a 3500-nit 120Hz panel. The resolution is 1200 x 2608 pixels, more commonly known as 1.5K in the industry. There’s a Poco Shield Glass on its front as some sort of protective layer. Poco officially got the F8 Ultra certified IP68.

There are three lenses on the back, and a dummy unit to balance the looks. The camera island is also home to a subwoofer with a Bose logo on it. This newcomer has a three-speaker system. It’s supposed to mimic a real 2.1 surround sound setup on a smartphone.

About those rear cameras: the Main shooter is a 50MP (OIS) Sony LightFusion 950. We also have a 50MP pericope telephoto here with a 5X zoom range. Then comes a 50MP Ultrawide that has a 102˚ FoV. Flip the phone over, and you’ll see a 32MP selfie shooter on the display punch hole.

An Ultrasonic fingerprint and WiFi 7 are also part of the hardware on Poco’s F8 Ultra. The Bluetooth is still version 6. NFC and Infrared Remote are also available here. This device is a bit pricier than the Pro. The Poco F8 Ultra kicks things off with a 12/256GB option, and it costs $729 (~PKR 205,000). The price is dragged all the way up to $799 (~PKR 225,000) for the 16/512GB trim.
