The Poco F8 series launch has been confirmed by Xiaomi. The global event is set in Bali, Indonesia. They are reportedly planning to unveil Poco F8 Pro and F8 Ultra at said event on November 26th, 16:00 (GMT+8) local time. In one of their latest teasers, we got confirmation of their chipsets. All the details are below.
We had heard rumors before and experts talking about the Snapdragon 8 Elite and 8 Elite Gen 5 chips for these models. Their guesses were right. The company has put a stamp on it through a new teaser.
The SD 8 Elite Gen 5 is obviously bound for the Poco F8 Ultra. That’s going to be their priciest model. This chip is clocked at 4.6GHz, by the way. This SoC has been hitting 4 million AnTuTu points on other devices. Let’s wait and see how it performs on the Poco F8 Ultra.
The Gen 5 chip integrates the best available iGPU in the market for the Android platform: Adreno 840. The GPU clocks at 1.2GHz, and the chip can easily support LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage speeds. Again, you cannot find a better chipset than this on a handset.
Geekbench hinted at the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip on the new Xiaomi Poco mobile. The company has also verified it now. This is a year-old platform, but it’s still a flagship chip and easily one of the fastest mobile processors in the world. It has a 4.32GHz clock speed, so it’s trailing the 8 Elite Gen 5 by a small margin.
Poco has been teasing the series nonstop. We saw a teaser that showed the Soung by Bose logo on the back of the phone. The Chinese Redmi K90 Pro Max uses a rear subwoofer and stereo speakers. This device is apparently getting rebranded as Poco F8 Ultra, so its specs will be familiar.
The rear Bose subwoofer adds an extra dimension to the sound. The F8 Ultra can actually run a 2.1 surround sound system. Its Poco F8 Pro sibling is also tuned by Bose, but sadly, there’s no extra speaker on the back. We’ll probably see more of their specs in teasers before the series’ debut. Keep watching the news for updates.
