Oppo Reno 17 Series Set for Launch Next Week with Major Battery & Camera Upgrades

We’ve known for a while that the Oppo Reno 17 series will debut in November. But there was no specific launch date, not even a leak. They’ve made it official today. The company has announced that the Chinese Reno 17 launch is happening in three days, on November 9th.

Oppo has an official handle on Weibo in China, and that’s where they posted a video teaser. The two phones presumed to be part of the Reno 17 series are coming on Monday next week. And we are in the final stretch. Of course, they refuse to give up the spec sheets, but at least Oppo left some clues.

By the way, there’s no cooling period. The latest Oppo Reno mobile will be in the shops on the exact date for in-person shopping. That’s all the more convenient for other markets. There’s no pre-order window in China. Reno 17 series will end up in global stores sooner.

This duo has been all over the internet. Sources apparently agree that the Reno 17 and 17 Pro will have plenty of upgrades. And the biggest of all will be the batteries. The cell packs have grown on both newcomers. Though the size distribution is a little counterintuitive.

Oppo Reno 17 is bigger, and it has more room in the chassis. So it will end up with an 8000mAh cell. They made the Reno 17 Pro compact. That’s why, even though it outranks the other, all it has is a 7200mAh cell. Those will both be Si/C batteries (80W charging).

They want to put 200MP cameras on both phones. That’s another big upgrade for this series. One more piece of good news from reports is that the Hasselblad teleconverted lens kits from the Find X10 series might also work with the Reno 17 series. They may have made the design accommodations to make it work. The prices are anyone’s guess right now. Keep watching the news for more updates.
