Oppo Reno 17 Series Officially Teased for November; Here’s What to Expect

Blind pre-orders are online for the Oppo Reno 17 series in China. They’ve even confirmed the launch month, though we already knew about it. It’s coming in November. What we needed was the exact launch date, but we may have to wait for it a bit longer.

This was announced on Weibo, and a link to the pre-order site was also given in said post. There’s nothing on the page just yet, but they may update it later with specs/overview. We’ll notify you when they do so. We have to go off the leaked details for now.

There are at least two versions. This series will deploy the Oppo Reno 17 and the Reno 17 Pro. These are suspected to be the lead phones, and others will come after that. We haven’t heard of any major upgrades on these phones so far. The reports parrot the same Reno 16 figures.

Oppo latest Reno model would be built around the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, the very same chip Reno 16 had last time. This is a 2.8GHz CPU + Adreno 722 GPU package. This is suited for purely midrange handsets, and that’s exactly where the Reno 17 allegedly ranks.

It’s possible that the Reno 17 Pro would be a compact build. We’ve heard more than one leak say that the Pro has a 6.32” OLED. It may be the exact one the Reno 16 Pro used. That would mean it’s a 144Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution panel with 1800 nits HBM.

And yes, the Pro’s chipset is yet again expected to be the Dimensity 8550 platform. That’s a sub-flagship silicon (3.4GHz boost clock CPU + Mali-G720 MC8 GPU). The Pro would end up costing more, obviously.

There are also reports of a 200MP main camera on the Reno 17 Pro. They’ll give this handset a larger cell this time. The phone will jump from 6700mAh to 7000mAh (Si/C). And of course, they’ll put Android 17 Color OS 17 on this newcomer from the factory. Keep watching the news for more updates.
