Chinese brands are whipping up more sub-flagship devices for mid-2026 release. The rumor mill has been actively trailing those handsets. There’s the Honor 600 series and the Vivo S60 lineup. HUWAEI’s Nova 16 has also been the talk of the town lately. And Oppo is all but ready to debut the Oppo Reno 16 and 16 Pro.
SmartPikachu reported that every brand is pushing hard to improve the build quality of said devices. And this has increased the material costs. More than online sales, they are dedicating all their energy to offline retail. Another leak gave away the key specs for Oppo Reno 16 and 16 Pro.
Digital Chat Station is the ever-reliable source behind this leak. Apparently, he somehow got access to one of the Reno 16 phones. Of course, he shared the findings online, specifically on his Weibo account. There are four shades for the Pro: White, Black, Purple, or Green.
This newcomer has a metal build. It could be an aluminum alloy material like last time. The chassis will hold a massive battery, somewhere in the range of 7,000 mAh. So it’s essentially a two-day phone. Nothing was said about its charging speed, though the closest guess would be 80W. By the way, here you can find latest Oppo mobile Prices that depends on market situations.
At least for the Reno 16 Pro, they could be planning four storage trims. The base version is at 12/256GB. There’s one with 12/512GB storage and a third with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The higher 16/1TB option may or may not exist. That’s understandable due to the DRAM and NAND shortage.
Dimensity 9400+ or Dimensity 9500s could be used on Reno 16 Pro. It’s definitely a flagship build. The screen is supposed to be a 6.78” 1.5K OLED with very slim bezels. As we understand it, the Reno 16 Pro could upgrade the OLED to an LTPO variable refresh rate.
Digital Chat Station replied to a commenter on his post that the basic Reno 16 is built around a smaller 6.3” OLED. But it will use a Dimensity 8000 series chip. There was another reply from DCS. He said that the Pro could fall in the $585 to $735 range. Sub-flagship is definitely the right category for it. Keep watching the news for updates.
